Well the rain stayed away for most of the weekend leaving plenty of sunshine for the Powercruise faithful to cruise their cars till their wheels fell off in yet another successful Carline Mufflers Powercruise.
Thursday at noon saw the gates virtually driven over at Queensland Raceway in order for the hundreds of entrants and campers keen to get the best spot trackside for the weekend of non-stop action. The small amount of rain on Thursday and Friday morning made little or no impact on the numbers of Campers eager to set up home at the Raceway for the mad weekend ahead. Friday saw the start of Cruising and track action with Powerskids, Off-Street Racing, Drifting and Drift demo’s, as well as other off track entertainment like the Miss Powercruise Comp, Show & Shine & Dyno Comps which were all heavily fought for. The quality of cars this time around was yet another great step up once again proving that people are still building quality cars for Powercruise and other shows telling me just one thing…Street Machining in the sunny state is certainly alive and well judging by the number of awesome cars on track and the amount of grudge racing that was happening and the number of street sleepers cruising the track just looking to knock off some of the quicker high profile cars. It was bloody great watching these guys sit and wait, then once they had slayed their opponents, there were thumps up all round and it didn’t matter what make of car you were in, nor did it matter what was powering it. Everyone had fun in a safe, legal and controlled environment at the only place you’re allowed to do it.
